On the 15th of December, a Jule-lad called Þvörusleikir arrives down amongst people.
This Jule-lad has a habit of sneaking into the kitchen to steal the wooden spoons form the pots to lick them.
There is one thing about these lads that the Icelandic folklore cannot agree upon. That is in which mountain they live.
In fact, each town or locality claims that they live in the most prominent mountain in their area.
You could try it out when you drive around Iceland. Ask a person in each town where they believe the Jule-lads live and be sure that you will not have many identical answers.
