The 11th of the Jule-lads is Gáttaþefur he came from the mountains on the 22nd of December to sniff through the doors to find freshly baked laufabrauð (leaf bread). He had a particularly large nose that would guide him from the mountain to the farms where he could find his favorite food.

On the 23rd of December, a lad named Ketkrókur finds his way from the mountains. He is the 12th of the lot and his favorite food was smoked and hung meat. He would sneak into the pantry to steal the hanging meat using a long hook.
